Hm, post food-poisoning.

According to somethign somebody said, I didn't get food poisoning. I got stomach flu. Regardless. I'm glad to be better.
Now, before I had that I was able to eat greasy stuff no problem. Today I went to have the classic breakfast (scrambled liquid eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast) and struggled with the eggs. What the hell, right? But I assume that it's just non-healthy shit that I kinda should avoid. I'm using the food poisoning after-effect to keep myself from eating stuff that my stomach wouldn't (or well, shouldn't, anyways) be able to eat. Before I was able to eat that no problem.
My breakfasts have also decreased. I used to eat a lot for breakfast, and now I'm down to crackers and tea. Whatever, works for me. I'll update after.

Today's cards!

Today's cards sound a bit better than yesterday's. Yesterday I got swords, right? Swords are always bad news. Inverted swords are usually worse news. Whenever a reading is really bad, I get scared and shuffle again.
Today's reading says:
In any given time, you can only control your possible options. Your own possible optinons, and from that only come your own possible outcomes. And through this, bad experiences may come (present). Life can be a bit rough. Well, it kinda is. But by enduring, you can work your judgement and your strength in general. The one card says I'm a passionate protector. Lol, cards.

I'm a lot better.

Last night was the first time after food poisoning that I ate something and felt good about it. I made me a bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich. It was alright. I'm paranoid of anything that looks like bread, but I guess that'll go away with time.
I haven't worked out either. I haven't felt good and the weather really isn't appropiate.
However, this year is the first time that my weight doesn't shoot straight up after December.
My progress has kinda froze. But should be fine. As soon as school starts I think I have the first weeks to be able to work out at mohawk.

Shitty situation.

By shitty, I mean shitty. Food poisoning. Shit. Lots and lots of it. And puke. And stomach cramps. Man, today my stomach was fully empty. Anything I put in it, even liquids, would just go back up in a few minutes. It's terrible.
Needless to say, I didn't work out today.
Nor Yesterday.
Today's the first time ever that I feel like just crashing while standing and not getting up. But obviously, I hate the idea of me seeming so weak, so I just gathered energy (menergy, mind you) to just walk straight and make myself look awesome for when I went to the doctor.
Due to this looking good shit, the doc took long. I guess they treat you last if you don't seem like you're dying.
I still feel shitty. But the diarrhea and the puking are gone. Thank god for gravol. I hate puking.

Second cold run

Yesterday I didn't run. My lungs were hurting and I was scared that it was because of the cold air.
But no, it was from me taking kicks on the back instead of my arms like I should.
Today's run was nice. I changed my route to avoid icy spots and ended up running longer. I ran, got home, showered, and then hung out with the twins and Macaquinho.
Man, I missed that guy. He's sick.
The twins are awesome too.
Then, after that, I went to capoeira and did my usual class. After, I had dinner at Macaquinho's house.
Today there's an eclipse. I wish I could see it with Mel. I hope she's well.

First Cold Run

Last night was my last exam for the first semester. This means I got 3 weeks off. Yay!
No. Not weeks off. I work during those days. I work out during those days. No time off for me.
These 15 days are to fix the damage done to my body from less sleep than required, muffin-a-day diet, and other things that a full-time student is bound to.
Know what? It was kinda nice. By running out, I felt something I hadn't felt before: that of breaking a limit of mine. Running in the cold? Me? Back in Colombia this would be crazy.
I dressed in layers. I got some tight underpants and undershirt, and wore those under my old cammo pants. For my torso, I wore that undershirt (athletic works, kind of a nylon/spandex thinger), a nylon shirt to help release heat and sweat, and a sweater.
My music broke at the beginning, but it's alright. I could still endure the run.
This is possible. I thought it wasn't.
I thought I needed months of conditioning before running in the cold. Maybe I am already that conditioned, but what the heck. I'm happy. I have to make the most I can out of these 3 weeks.
It's the only time I'll get for myself.

I haven't kept up with the blog...

But I'm still trying.
School is taking most of my time. I had to drop capoeira for a few weeks. I'm working out every day again.
It's kinda disappointing that I wasn't able to do the batizado and get a new cord. This year I can truly say I was ready to be challenged for it. But oh well... maybe that's why I'm taking a break. But it's alright. I'm good with it.

I feel like it's been ages.

But it hasn't been over 3 weeks.
I haven't worked out other than in class. I feel like I've gained weight. But not the bad kind. However, I got to watch it.
I'm during a break from school. One week. I'm scared it isn't enough to catch up with all the stuff.
As soon as I'm back in school, I'm hitting the gym again.

Monday, October 11, 2010

I haven't worked out in 5 days. I just started feeling well 2 days ago. It's all good. I'll catch back up tomorrow.

shit, son!

Today's the first time that I feel overworked in ages. This morning I woke up at 6 to go to my class at 9. My breakfast was crackers and cheese. And a cup of tea. And another one that I chugged on the way to school. There I had my math class. At 10am, I got a coffee and worked on my CAD homework. Then I worked out. I did 30 minutes cardio. It was a pretty good run. I did mostly at 6 miles per hour. Pretty good for my usual speed. I did abs, I think I did chest as well. I forget.
Eitherway, I had my class as well. I'm really tired.

october 5th

Today I worked my back mostly.
I warmed up with 15 minutes of rowing. I felt too tired, so I didn't do the 30 minute cardio. Tomorrow I'll do it.
Then I did front rows at 50 lbs. Fast pull and slow release.
Then I went on the back extension thingy. 50 of them.
Then I did again front rows but at 100 lbs, 10 of them.
Then 30 more back extension thingies.
I also did 90 crunches, the crazy ones with different leg positions.
It was an okay workout.
Tomorrow I'll do the 30 minute cardio.
Damn, I feel so good

picture time i guess

Today I felt a bit of a confidence rush and thought I'd put a clear picture of what I look like.
I'm glad my manboobs are reducing in size. I also see my top four abs. But I still got a long way to go.
I think my arms are okay. I love that my shirts are tight at my biceps.
Tomorrow I should be working my back, if I can.
And I got homework to do.
Later!

Saturday, October 2, 2010

heh, saturday

I didn't go to my class today. I woke up feeling like a shit that had been shat out over and over again.
This coming week I intend on working my back. I'll start on Tuesday though. I have to see Mel on Monday.

Thursday, September 30, 2010

bah, edit.

I've been sick for a while. Today it really hit me again.
However, I worked out before I felt sick.
I did my half hour cardio, then i did dips, back crunches, and my 80 set of ab crunches. I think my back will be a lot stronger by Saturday.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Today it was a rather long day. I was done at 5pm and was short of money yesterday. So, yeah...
However, I realized that the difference between other attempts and this, is that whenever I don't feel like going to the gym to work out, I just shut up and go. Know why? Because I got nothing to lose. I got the world to win.

I'm beginning to like the rowing machine instead of just running. This works my back as I warm up. I kinda like it.
I did 10 minutes of rowing and 20 minutes of jogging on a threadmill.
Then I did my ab stuff, on whatchamagonnacallit, that you do dips on? Yeah, straight leg raises, then lift my knees as high as I can. Ten of each. Then I think I did push-ups. I'm not sure. I probably did.
I did abs though.
I just did 25 push-ups out of boredom.
Tomorrow I'll go at it again.

i wish i could tell you so many things

Today was a rather odd day.
I did 10 minutes cardio and then some weights at the school's actual gym, but then i found it rather boring. I went to the school's fitness center right after and did my usual workout on top of that.
I feel nice. I'm just too tired for anything.
Tomorrow I'm going at it again.

September 25th

I picked running every day back up. Half hour every day. Only thing that's different is that since I started school again, I haven't watched what I eat that much.

School!

A long time ago, I made a list of things I needed to achieve by the end of this summer.
All of them, except getting a drivers license were achieved. I'm proud.
I'm now a full-time student at Mohawk College. Mechanical Engineering Technology. I'm happy.
I hadn't worked out because of personal circumstances. No, not lazyness. Somebody close to me is going through hell, and I felt in need of stopping my workouts in order to support her. I'll risk it.
I am still watching what I eat. And I'm still trying to be active.
And, according to people, the results are noticeable.
I will try to keep this blog updated more often. It's been quite a while since my last post.

I want our bodies to merge into each other, and to become a shapeless ball of love, completeness, and belonging.

I ran this morning again after my hiking trip and after the week cheat.
This week, working out is entirely up to me since my teacher didn't send out the message for if anyone wanted to still hold a class with me.
It's alright, I guess I'll prove myself this way.
I'm sweating like a pig, by the way. I'm gonna go shower before work.

i want to kick ass

I ran this morning again.
The internal bruises from the wipe out seem to be gone. Now it's just little things and the big scratches. I can run alright again.
Tomorrow I'll run again.

I hate being friend-zoned

I haven't worked out lately due to the bike wipe-out last week. My knee refuses to close up and so does my elbow.
All my left side, shoulders, hips, leg and arm, are kinda busted. I'm still going to class, but I can't do much.
I hope everything heals up soon. I want to run again.

i want a helmet!

Running every day works like a charm. After a bit, your lungs get used to it, and your legs hold up.
...that is if you don't have a wipe-out on a racing bicycle. My shitty knee is now bruised and missing a large skin patch. So is my right elbow. After this close call, I'm seriously interested in buying a helmet.
However, I've gone to class and trained.
I'll run as soon as I'm through this.

Friday night.

Runs every day seems to be working well.
That's all for tonight.

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

today's after math

Today I did my 5 am run and went straight to work. Got back home, rested for a bit, went over to Macaquinho's and had the greatest idea ever: work out.
I was dead by the end of it.
THEN I had my class. My muscles are all dead. I guess it's a good thing.

4th run. I think.

Last night I did 50 abs and 50 supermans and earlier in the day I did lateral dumbell raises and push-ups.
I just finished today's run. I read that glycogen levels are low when you wake up, so I think what I'm doing is about right.
It feels like my cardiovascular endurance has increased by a lot. Just today I did the whole run without stopping on the way there and on the way back I stopped about 4 times for breaks of less than one minute.
I have another deadline too. The Algonquin trip, which should be on the 31st. I want to feel good for that trip. I think this is going to help.
I have work in a bit less than 2 hours. Then, at 7:30 pm I have my class. I think there will be an improvement in my endurance in class. I need to see how this is helping and how I can use it to my advantage.
Later!

3rd run. Life in a flask!

Well, I seriously didn't think I could run like this.
It felt really good. I did it at 5:15 am. Got back, showered, and I'm now waiting until 7 to go to work. Today it was a bit harder. I felt like I wasn't fully awake. And I left my music. It's nothing to a normal person, but me, without music? Good one.
Either way, when running, I kept thinking of old times. Gasping for air, mestre yelling "DON'T DIE ON ME GUYS" and some other people that have helped me push my limits.
I can do this.
I can't wait until I make this public.
And crap, it's hard to avoid writing personal stuff on this. xD

2nd run

Yesterday's run make a huge change. My lungs were clear and I could do half the run without stopping.
I guess waking up and going to work 5 hours before I was supposed to start did make a change.
I don't know if I will be able to go to class tonight. However, after the past runs, I wouldn't feel that bad about it.
It's on.

Being friend-zoned is annoying.

Hi guys, Mau here.
This year feels like it passed by really quickly. Next thing I know and I'll be back in college and it'll be new years again and whatnot.
It always feels like my time has been wasted. And I still feel overweight. However, my stamina has increased a lot.
Just last night I ran all the way from my house to costco and back. That's about a half an hour jog. Well, half-jogging half-gasp-for-air-jog. It still counts, right?
I'm getting back on the whole plan.
The batizado is coming up. Afro-fest was a wake-up call. This year's batizado can't be disappointing.

July 7th. Warmth.

Recently I've worked out. Not as much, but I have. Just going down to spencer smith right after work in the sun, making all the way to confederation park (about 10km in between), and then heading back to my house, is a decent work out.
When I get to the lift bridge, my side stop, I work on abs and push-ups.
Yeah, it's all fun. And the warmth gives me energy.

Like I said before, I felt the clock ticking. I know that time is flying by and I am not intending to waste it.
Just today, after working a 7-2 shift, I rode down to the lake and did some pushups and some ab work.
Then, the ride back, was killer. But it's alright. I got some rest and I went out for a jog.
It's funny, time flies when you're running. I remember leaving at about 4:20 and now that I realize it's 5:01ish.
I'm sweating like a pig. But it's awesome.
I tried interval running, which consists of a warm-up run, a balls-in full-speed run, then a recovery jog. It felt alright.
Now I'll do some weights and then I'll have my class. I hope I'm not pushing myself too much.
But I feel like I can do it.
And I can do it tomorrow too. I'll try my best.
Later!

back. and all cool.

Today after work I felt the need of working out again. Pushups, sit ups, squats, and some deadlifts. It's not much, but in addition to my bike rides and work it does add up.
I need to keep doing this. I want to keep it up. I know I can.
