But I have good updates. I have been back on the ball since October (it's now April) and I can see significant muscle gain. I have been working out with Karim three times a week and doing intermittent fasting since the end of March,
While I dropped some weight, the drop isn't that much in numbers. But I can see increase in muscle size, definition, and strength coming back. It's great.
I have been in good psychological standing, even when it was time to quit my last job. Which was sad... but I had to do it.
I'll try to update this more often. This summer will be lots of fun.

Shit.
So, my efforts so far have been wasted. Or experience. Whichever you wanna put it. I gained a lot of weight and, for my own mental health, I quit my job. I'm now looking for work while trying (and somewhat failing) being active. I tried dieting with EC stacks and I did lose some weight. But a week of inactivity came and I'm back to my bad weight.
So, yeah. I'll keep trying.

Well then.
So, I'm tired of giving excuses. The huge change of metabolic pace is really screwing with me. I went from an optimal shape and regular habits to a study environment with little working out, and then to a sitting job that tires me for 9 hours to then want to go home and just relax and do nothing. I'm worried. You know how people look forward to fitting their swimming suits for summer? Yeah, that's me, but also to fit my snow clothes well for snowboarding season. I don't wanna look like crap and cause further strain to my knees for being overweight.
So I took back the ECAs. Today I took one when I left home. Next one should be at 10 and then at 2 pm.
This should help my body at least burn a bit off while I sit here and the 2pm one should help me get a bit more energy before I leave.
Also, I have been cutting sweets and dairy.
I hope I can lose something. I don't wanna get any more repetitive strain injuries due to being overweight.
I also want to look good for my girlfriend. She's pretty hot.

So... Algonquin on Friday.
Last weekend I made arrangements with Martin to go backpacking to Algonquin, our first campsite. While it's really fun, I don't want to be the laughing stock. So I have upped the cardio and the dieting back. I don't know how long I can keep it. It's very difficult, especially when my brother keeps bringing junk food to the house... But I seem to be back at 232 from 237 empty last weekend. I gotta keep it up while taking care of my joints while I'm pushing things this hard, especially with a backpacking trip coming up.
Today I stopped making fun of elliptical machines. I got on an elliptical to avoid the impact to my left knee in the morning, and will be running when I get back.
I got to get my pull up strength back. For this, I need to keep doing assisted pullups while I get down to a weight that I can actually work with.
Oh man, this much work to make up for the over-junk-eating for the final semester.
Welp, here we go again. Again.
Mau.
ALSO I WANT TO CONQUER MY STUPID FEAR AT THAT ROCK IN MAGGIE LAKE.
I'll make this happen.

back on the ball?
Its tough to get back to the same level of activity I was in last year. I must be in much better mental condition. My physical condition is shitty, but I am getting back on top of things.
Last friday, or two fridays ago, not sure, out of desperation, I went to a local gym and paid half my paycheque up front for six months of gym. I couldn't have done a better thing. The hip problems I developed at work from sitting all day (or from longboarding, one of the two, or both) have dimished.
Today I saw a light of inspiration: some old dude lifting more than I can. White hair, wrinkly face, perfect body development.
I want that when I'm old.

Oh snap, it's summer.
And last years' achievements are gone with the wind. 8 months of hardcore studying (due to fear of failure with graduation upon me) can seriously fuck a person over. I mean, in those 8 months, and much more intensely in the last 4, I put just under 40 lbs. School food, donuts, chocolate bars, and energy drinks really took a toll on me.
But don't get me wrong. Food is food- and I needed it. My brain works significantly better with sugar. And not holding back on my food intake helped me be able to study my ass off.
So, long story short, I graduated. I passed everything. I'm working now, and looking forward to get into university.
The downside of things is... I got a sitting job. The line of my butt was going to disappear from sitting so much.
Last friday I paid a 6 month contract up-front at a local gym. Yesterday was my second day. I worked my back. Today idk what I will do. But it will be epic.
I'm at 236 lbs empty.

well, fuck.
It seems I have been busy with the concerns of finding work and enjoying my life instead of worrying about my body, and today I realice the toll it's taken.
I have not worked out consistently since the begining of last semester. Now, out of desperation, I thought I'd go for a run. I can't run at a constant pace.
My body feels even deformed. Kind of a bummer now that it's getting warm.

Oh, crap
Yeah, I've noticed that during school I wain tons of weight. This past semester I have put on about 30 lbs. Especially around finals. I can't afford starving my brain.
Exams should be in two weeks. I hope things go well. When things are done, I gotta get back in the ball. I must say that my self-esteem isn't doing well. I've gained too much weight, am being inactive (other than school, that is) and my clothes don't fit well. Currently at about 230 lbs.

I'm hoping I'm back on the ball.
On a both mental and physical health note, I think having that new start with Megan has encouraged me to get back on the ball. My mind seems clearer (though I still have concentration problems) and I have got back into working out.
I've noticed that my ankle still hurts a lot, but it doesn't get either better or worse. And the pain goes away after I am warm. So I've started running again, today being, I think, the 4th day in a row, and am already feeling differences.
I hope I can keep this up to get back to awesome again!

Man, am I a mess.
That super fast 20lb drop was a bad legend. It's hard for a person with such a rigorous work schedule and mental activity to go eating very little. I must balance what I eat with my brain and physical activity levels. That's when the over-eating and under-eating can be bad.
About capoeira... I miss it. I am trying to replace it with longboarding and snowboarding, and so far it has come much more pricy than I thought. But I think I'm getting back on my feet.
Also, given the mental health thing, a friends with benefits thing isn't right to either person. It's unfair, it hurts somebody in the end.

The structural beams of the cold nights (or how I fucked up my knee and intend on running a race).
I have resisted the urge of getting on a scale. Last time I updated I was at 210.5 at the gym. It's been 4 days, and, uhm, my right knee hurts like a bitch sometimes. I can't run like I used to. Maybe I injured it and am not giving it enough time to heal. Whichever the case, I'll see if I can get it checked tonight.
Two weeks from now, October 19th, I have to run. I still don't know how I'm gonna get there... But I hope I can find me a ride there.
Oh, yesterday I flexed and ripped my shirt, lol. First time that ever happens to me. I didn't think that ever happened in real life.

Color Me Rad, October 19th.
Since I last updated this, I put on about 10 lbs. As expected, free work barbeques, social commitments, school, and minor injuries, do take a toll on my metabolism. My body is used to running/working out daily to balance out for whatever I do, and when I don't work out, I get hungrier.
Color me rad, the most colourful thing I have seen so far (not in person) will take place on October 19th in Hamilton. I want to get people to join in. However, it takes effort, and will power is something that not many people have.
Anyway. I told Steve, the awesome long distance runner from work, and the other guys at the gym. The official weight as of this Monday was 210.5 lbs. These coming weeks will be strict, just like they were for the dash. I want to be agile and light. I don't want to be top 50%. I want to be better than most.
My right knee has been giving me shit. I think I have some muscular issue (not knee). As soon as my body is all warm, the pain is gone. I am trying to strengthen my legs again for the run to come.
I will continue trying to get people to come with me. I mean, it's something I want to do. And I would love it if anybody joined in. It'll be colourful and awesome!
TL;DR:
First day, November 30th. 210.5 lbs.
Last day: October 18th. I want to be under 200.
Race: October 19th. 10:30 am.
Christie Lake
1000 Highway 5 W, Dundas, ON, L9H 5E2, Canada.
OH SHIT THIS IS NOT IN HAMILTON IT'S IN DUNDAS. I gotta find me a ride.

Knee hurts like a mo-fawk.
I admit I pushed a lot to drop the 20 prior to the dash, and then the killarney and the lake superior park trip. My right knee is sorta really bad. But I can't stop working out- I gotta be careful, because if I push hard, it'll bust, and if I don't, hello belly lol. I gotta keep going, just be smart about it.
Color me rad will be October 19th at 10:45 am, if I'm not mistaken. I know I can't do tough mudder this year. My body isn't ready for it. But next year I will make it happen. =]

feedback from coworkers
Apparently my form when I run is better. My pull-ups, after seeing Karim, they were much better. Slow and short in reps, but good form.
Oh, and my boobs are huge, apparently. xD
My pecs are much better defined.
Today I ran and had branch-chained aminoacids, both before and during work-out. However, I should only have them before I work out, as the same stuff thats in it is also in the whey.
Also, six star whey protein tastes iffy.

Wow.
205.4. But I'm thirsty and a bit hungry, so lets say 207 late at night.
The dash was amazing. I still think of the obstacles I went through, and how easily I went over them.
I can do things. I can make them happen.

Snap.
So, my freak-out mode brought good results. I dropped about 15 lbs in total in two weeks. I also did the warrior dash, with position 388 out of 2525 people that ran it, plus two disqualified people.
388, Mauy the Scarecrowy, 79308, 25, M, 46:29.60, 13:15/M.
I'm proud. But I have to be better next time. =]
Now it's not the time to drop the ball. I have to keep this going.
Next race will be in august. I don't know where, but I have to find out soon!

So, about last night
I went for a nap yesterday and woke up today at 4 am. A low caloric intake makes you tired. However, it does bring up a good point, that sleep is more than necessary for a good diet. I mean, the more you are awake, the more you eat. And usually, when you're awake for too long, it's not necessarily moving around, but sitting in front of the TV. Or at least that's in my case.
I uploaded two pictures this morning. On an empty stomach (ish), I was at 205.4 lbs. I am very surprised, it's been over 15 lbs (maybe I waterloaded that sunday that scared me shitless), but it's still 15 lbs lighter than that sunday. I am seeing results almost daily. I feel lighter, muscle definition is increasing, yadda yadda yadda. I feel much better about myself.
Maybe my goal of 200 lbs by the end of this week is crazy, but seeing these numbers, it makes me think that, yes, it will be hard, but it's not impossible.
Now, if I made it to 200 lbs by this weekend, what if I make it to 190 next week after the dash?
I wonder if that's pushing it. Fast weight loss tends to be unhealthy. After the dash I'll see my doctor and do some blood tests to see if this crazy diet has screwed with my stuff-in-blood-levels.
All I know for now is that I feel good. I mean, no smoking, no junkfood, no drinking. Hell, this is good.

Snap, over 10 pounds in less than two weeks.
I have been working out almost twice per day, and going on a caloric deficit of about 1000 calories, while trying to have a somewhat decent protein intake. This is basically day 7 of this ordeal. I have 12 days to the warrior dash.
Today I ran for half hour during my lunch. Maybe that's why this day has been so rough. I feel a bit light headed, and somebody's armpit smell in an enclosed room (go people!) wasn't helping it.
Okay, I gotta get back to make measurements. I wonder if I'll get to my ridiculous goal of 200lbs by the end of this week...
I wonder if it's even possible. What I'm doing is borderline unhealthy. I'm much lighter, but I understand that as soon as I'm done losing weight, I'll regain a lot of weight as soon as I start eating regular food.
My arms are more defined. My face feels a bit slimmer, and clothes fit better.
I forgot to upload a picture. I'll try tonight.
I wish somebody would remind me xD
Mau.

Well then
This week I have pushed the hardest I have ever pushed. The scale said 209.5.
I doubted it, so I moved it to another spot (flatter ground) and did it again. And again. And again.
I have worked out twice per day and lowered my caloric intake to about 1000 calories and about 140 grams of protein. I hope I can sustain this for two more weeks. I want to be in my best shape possible for he dash.
Picture day will be tomorrow. I will try to remember.

Yeah might have hurt it. I have to fix it though, I wanna do this marathon thing, the warrior dash.
