Man, am I a mess.

That super fast 20lb drop was a bad legend. It's hard for a person with such a rigorous work schedule and mental activity to go eating very little. I must balance what I eat with my brain and physical activity levels. That's when the over-eating and under-eating can be bad.
About capoeira... I miss it. I am trying to replace it with longboarding and snowboarding, and so far it has come much more pricy than I thought. But I think I'm getting back on my feet.
Also, given the mental health thing, a friends with benefits thing isn't right to either person. It's unfair, it hurts somebody in the end.

The structural beams of the cold nights (or how I fucked up my knee and intend on running a race).

I have resisted the urge of getting on a scale. Last time I updated I was at 210.5 at the gym. It's been 4 days, and, uhm, my right knee hurts like a bitch sometimes. I can't run like I used to. Maybe I injured it and am not giving it enough time to heal. Whichever the case, I'll see if I can get it checked tonight.
Two weeks from now, October 19th, I have to run. I still don't know how I'm gonna get there... But I hope I can find me a ride there.
Oh, yesterday I flexed and ripped my shirt, lol. First time that ever happens to me. I didn't think that ever happened in real life.

Color Me Rad, October 19th.

Since I last updated this, I put on about 10 lbs. As expected, free work barbeques, social commitments, school, and minor injuries, do take a toll on my metabolism. My body is used to running/working out daily to balance out for whatever I do, and when I don't work out, I get hungrier.
Color me rad, the most colourful thing I have seen so far (not in person) will take place on October 19th in Hamilton. I want to get people to join in. However, it takes effort, and will power is something that not many people have.
Anyway. I told Steve, the awesome long distance runner from work, and the other guys at the gym. The official weight as of this Monday was 210.5 lbs. These coming weeks will be strict, just like they were for the dash. I want to be agile and light. I don't want to be top 50%. I want to be better than most.
My right knee has been giving me shit. I think I have some muscular issue (not knee). As soon as my body is all warm, the pain is gone. I am trying to strengthen my legs again for the run to come.
I will continue trying to get people to come with me. I mean, it's something I want to do. And I would love it if anybody joined in. It'll be colourful and awesome!

TL;DR:

First day, November 30th. 210.5 lbs.
Last day: October 18th. I want to be under 200.

Race: October 19th. 10:30 am.

Christie Lake
1000 Highway 5 W, Dundas, ON, L9H 5E2, Canada.
OH SHIT THIS IS NOT IN HAMILTON IT'S IN DUNDAS. I gotta find me a ride.

Knee hurts like a mo-fawk.

I admit I pushed a lot to drop the 20 prior to the dash, and then the killarney and the lake superior park trip. My right knee is sorta really bad. But I can't stop working out- I gotta be careful, because if I push hard, it'll bust, and if I don't, hello belly lol. I gotta keep going, just be smart about it.
Color me rad will be October 19th at 10:45 am, if I'm not mistaken. I know I can't do tough mudder this year. My body isn't ready for it. But next year I will make it happen. =]

201.9 lbs.

feedback from coworkers

Apparently my form when I run is better. My pull-ups, after seeing Karim, they were much better. Slow and short in reps, but good form.
Oh, and my boobs are huge, apparently. xD
My pecs are much better defined.
Today I ran and had branch-chained aminoacids, both before and during work-out. However, I should only have them before I work out, as the same stuff thats in it is also in the whey.
Also, six star whey protein tastes iffy.

Wow.

205.4. But I'm thirsty and a bit hungry, so lets say 207 late at night.
The dash was amazing. I still think of the obstacles I went through, and how easily I went over them.
I can do things. I can make them happen.

Snap.

So, my freak-out mode brought good results. I dropped about 15 lbs in total in two weeks. I also did the warrior dash, with position 388 out of 2525 people that ran it, plus two disqualified people.
388, Mauy the Scarecrowy, 79308, 25, M, 46:29.60, 13:15/M.
I'm proud. But I have to be better next time. =]
Now it's not the time to drop the ball. I have to keep this going.
Next race will be in august. I don't know where, but I have to find out soon!

So, about last night

I went for a nap yesterday and woke up today at 4 am. A low caloric intake makes you tired. However, it does bring up a good point, that sleep is more than necessary for a good diet. I mean, the more you are awake, the more you eat. And usually, when you're awake for too long, it's not necessarily moving around, but sitting in front of the TV. Or at least that's in my case.
I uploaded two pictures this morning. On an empty stomach (ish), I was at 205.4 lbs. I am very surprised, it's been over 15 lbs  (maybe I waterloaded that sunday that scared me shitless), but it's still 15 lbs lighter than that sunday. I am seeing results almost daily. I feel lighter, muscle definition is increasing, yadda yadda yadda. I feel much better about myself.
Maybe my goal of 200 lbs by the end of this week is crazy, but seeing these numbers, it makes me think that, yes, it will be hard, but it's not impossible.
Now, if I made it to 200 lbs by this weekend, what if I make it to 190 next week after the dash?
I wonder if that's pushing it. Fast weight loss tends to be unhealthy. After the dash I'll see my doctor and do some blood tests to see if this crazy diet has screwed with my stuff-in-blood-levels.
All I know for now is that I feel good. I mean, no smoking, no junkfood, no drinking. Hell, this is good.

205.4, over 15 in less than two weeks

205.4... Over 15 in less than two weeks

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Snap, over 10 pounds in less than two weeks.

I have been working out almost twice per day, and going on a caloric deficit of about 1000 calories, while trying to have a somewhat decent protein intake. This is basically day 7 of this ordeal. I have 12 days to the warrior dash.
Today I ran for half hour during my lunch. Maybe that's why this day has been so rough. I feel a bit light headed, and somebody's armpit smell in an enclosed room (go people!) wasn't helping it.
Okay, I gotta get back to make measurements. I wonder if I'll get to my ridiculous goal of 200lbs by the end of this week...
I wonder if it's even possible. What I'm doing is borderline unhealthy. I'm much lighter, but I understand that as soon as I'm done losing weight, I'll regain a lot of weight as soon as I start eating regular food.
My arms are more defined. My face feels a bit slimmer, and clothes fit better.
I forgot to upload a picture. I'll try tonight.
I wish somebody would remind me xD

Well then

This week I have pushed the hardest I have ever pushed. The scale said 209.5.
I doubted it, so I moved it to another spot (flatter ground) and did it again. And again. And again.
I have worked out twice per day and lowered my caloric intake to about 1000 calories and about 140 grams of protein. I hope I can sustain this for two more weeks. I want to be in my best shape possible for he dash.
Picture day will be tomorrow. I will try to remember.

Right knee no es bueno

Yeah might have hurt it. I have to fix it though, I wanna do this marathon thing, the warrior dash.

222.4 lbs... I'm freaking out.

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

Lost progress, back at 218, depression kicking in, yadda yadda yadda. I'm getting back on the ball.

Monday, June 3, 2013

Haha, mother-trucker.

Last night I legit felt like crap for being at 215 lbs. On the scale at work, it said i was at 208. Maybe I did get rid of 7 lbs (water, sweat, crap) today. I was freaking out, so during lunch, I ran until I couldn't.
I did take pride in seeing that I can still run. I think I will change my work-outs back to mostly cardio but keep the high protein intake. That way there should be minimal muscle loss.
At least I hope. My priority is now to get back to where I was. Then, I'll lift. I think.
Mau.

I thought I was doing well.

I guess I got a wakeup call to get back on the ball. I was down at 207lbs, and I'm at 215 now. I felt bloated yesterday, now I know why. It's funny how weight and looks affect how I feel. Oh well. Heading off to the gym to fix this.

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

lol, body fortress whey protein, strawberry flavour.

I don't wanna say "cheap", but "affordable". Low price, decent amount, yadda yadda yadda.
BUT IT TASTES TERRIBLE.
I'm back on ECs and fish oil, and trying to run tuesdays and thursdays, and lift mondays, wednesdays, and fridays.
My weight is back at 210, I'm not happy.
But it's all workable. Especially while I'm still looking awesome.

A bit of a setback.

Karim's workout routine seems to be good so far. I had a bit of a setback though, due to food poisoning. I'm much better now, tomorrow I should make up for yesterday and Friday I should be back on track.
I will try to use this food poisoning to reset my metabolism, since its been running on empty for the past day and a half.

Also, now that I'm in an updating shit up mood

My workout as of late consists of:
Seated tricep press, 10 reps 1 set, 25 lbs
Pull ups, 10
Dips, 10
Calf raises, 10. Due to the lack of propper equipment, I do these under a low roof where I can reach with my hands and just push with my arms.
Crunches: for these I use the ab roller. It's not really the same, but it does work out my core to get it hard as rock.
Barbell Squats, 140 lbs, 10 reps, 1 set. I use a smith machine, and I want to kill it dead. I do this because it's the only thing I have available to me. This machine is terrible. It's a terrible invention, I don't give a flying fuck who says it's not.
Leg extensions, 10 reps 1 set, level 15
Leg curls, 10 reps, 1 set, level 5
Dumbell pullover, 10 reps, 1 set. I do these holding two 25 lbs dumbells.
Military press, 100 lbs, 10 reps, 1 set
Seated cable row, level 16, 10 reps 1 set
Bench press, 110 lbs 10 reps, 1 set. I want to change these to 100 lbs since they have 50 lbs dumbells.
Curls, 10 reps, 1 set, 25 lbs. I shouldnt cheat myself with these. The 30 lbs ones, I can do the first 5. The last 5 look like shit.

Now, this workout is before having spoken to my friend Karim. I have to change this to suit what he suggested. I want to make sorta like IT'S LEGS MONDAY, IT'S CORE WEDNESDAY, IT'S ARMS FRIDAY, and rest a bit Tuesdays and Thursdays, or maybe just chill out.
I'll see what I end up doing. It'll be great.
Mau.

Yeah.

203.7
Tomorrow my weight is bound to go up a bit though. Today I've had mostly just liquids. I'll post a picture to follow. This time I'll actually do it, compared to my previous times, lol.
Also, my good friend Karim (whom should get a lot of credit, after he trains athletes for a living), has suggested that I lose my weight through lifting, not cardio. He drew a graph which made sense to me, showing how if I did long cardio my cortisone levels would remain up, when I need those to go down so my body doesnt get stuck in that repetitive wtf-feed-me mode. I will listen to what he says, and I will change my work out to suit his suggestions. After all, he does know what I'm doing much more than I do.
So, yes, pictures to follow.

I think I'm doing well

Tuesdays and Thursdays are tiring. Those days I try to run for half hour. However, lately, I've only been able to do 25 minutes ish. I gotta step it up and get back to half hour. I'm at about 211 pounds. Things are looking good.
Mau.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

oh my monday.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, they consist of this:
Wake up at 6 am. Very light breakfast. Coffee at work. EC and fish oil. Possibly another coffee and a small granola bar (15.5 grams, from which 11 grams are carbs, 70 calories), and then, work out at lunch.
How it goes:
Seated tricep press, 10 reps, 25 lbs each arm.
Pull-ups, 10.
Dips, 10.
Calf raises, 10.
Crunches (or well, ab roller) 10.
Barbell squats, 10, 140 lbs.
Leg extensions, 10, setting 15. Used to be 12, but I upped it by mistake and can't back down.
Standing leg curls, 10, setting 5.
Dumbell pull-over.Ribcage expansion, 10 at 45 lbs.
Seated military press, 10 at 110 lbs.
Seated cable row, 10 at setting 15.
Bench press, 10 at 110 lbs.
Bicep curls, 10, 30 lbs.

There is room for gradual improvement. My pull-ups started at 8, very spaced. I can do better now, though still not 10 in a ro2. Dips, started at 8, I'm now at 10. Leg extensions, started at 12, I'm now at 15. Dumbell pullover, started with 9 reps, I'm squeezing in the 10th one. Military press, a 10 lb increase, and same bench press. I hope I don't get out of track again. I am seeing a bit of progress, but I want to see much much more.
Mau.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Well, this is what's been new.

I have been working out daily.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, just cardio. Run like hell.
Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have a routine, but I can't recall exactly what I'm doing. It's a list that I keep at work. That's where my gym is at.
I will post it as soon as I can.
I have tried to keep a caloric deficit, having fish oil, some EC (no aspirin), and whey after lifting.
Oh, and I'm at about 213 lbs. Pictures to come soon, ish, maybe.

Friday, March 8, 2013

Not too much, but
Deads, 150, bench, 110, military, 100, status: awesome.

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Well, that's something.

I have taken a bit of a different approach this week.
Instead of being so much a cardio bunny, I try to keep to building workouts three times per week, and run the other two.
The workout that I am following are a complete clusterfuck. I still have to get used to them. I will post it as soon as I can.
After getting shitty readings from my scale, I stopped updating my whiteboard much. So I started keeping track (ish) at work, with one old scale they have there. Yesterday I was at 215 lbs in the day, confirmed by a 216 lbs at night after dinner at home on my shitty scale.
I have noticed a few changes, though slight, but still enough to keep me going.
First, arms more defined. Well, duh.
Second: Top four abs are more defined, and belly/waist fat decreasing. Yay.
Third, manboobs decreased slightly. This always bothered me, though I do have pretty large pectoral muscles, but still.
Fourth, increased cardiovascular resistance. Not smoking much helps a lot.
I think this time there is a good possibility of me getting where I want to be. I mean, I got no reason to break these habits. I work out during lunch at work, and I get to leave as soon as I am done. If there is any personal commitments, they are still doable.
So, yes, I will post pictures following this update. Some time soon. Ish. Maybe later today.
Mau.
